Ingredients
- 3 English muffins or small pitas.
- 2 tablespoons olive oil.
- 2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar.
Directions
- Split the English muffins or quarter the pitas.
- Toast the bread.
- Mix the oil and vinegar** in a small bowl.
- Dip the toasted bread in the mixture and enjoy.

I'm actually not horrified at all. One of my favorite meals as a bachelor was a can of Hormel chili heated up and poured over a bowl of Fritos, then topped with cheese. Another was canned hash with fried eggs. While they were neither healthy (like your bachelor food) nor culinarily excellent, I enjoyed them. Heck, your oily bread sounds good; I'd probably add some red pepper flakes and some zatar to the dressing, and I'd use Tuscan extra-virgin olive oil. I've seen similar presentations of bread at very nice restaurants (e.g. Zaytinya).
