Here are some photos taken from the American side of Niagara Falls. By the way, I should have mentioned before that the falls are about 55 meters (180 feet) tall, and the Canadian (Horseshoe) falls are about a mile across.
I heard an interesting thing on TV the other day about Niagara. Yes, apparently the Americans originally thought they got the better end of the deal because they could use the Niagara River to power local industry. However, now the tide, flow?, has turned. Industry in the great rust belt of the US is dead and the has left behind a catastrophic mess on the US side. Canada, however, is benefiting from the, cleaner perhaps, tourist industry. People come in droves to take in the unspoiled views. Life is funny that way.
