360 L337
Microsoft recently took the wraps off the Xbox 360 Elite. The main differences are that it has an HDMI (high-definition multimedia interface) port (and cable) and a 120-GB hard drive. Oh, and it's black. The console hits stores in the US and Canada on April 29 and will be priced at 479 smackers. Owners of existing 360s will be able to buy the big hard drive separately for 180 bucks.

I am mightily ticked off about this thing, and not just because they passed up the opportunity to use the situationally-appropriate spelling used in the post title. It's a black 360 with a big HDD and an HDMI connection; in other words, it's exactly the box I wanted a year or so ago when I got my 360. It's one thing owning a tacky white 360 with an itty-bitty HDD and archaic outputs when it's all that's available, it's another when I know I have options. Now I'll need to spend the next several months convincing myself that I have no need to blow $480 - $(whatever I can get for my old 360 on the used market) on something that provides only a tiny improvement in actual functionality.
ReplyDeleteYep, I wondered how you would feel abut this. Now I know. Perhaps you can add the HDD to your system, and wait to get HDMI until your next-gen console.
