Curse You, Linda!

Linda is now my nemesis. And Murph. Linda a Murph are my nemeses.

I read on the Brand X forums that "Linda" was originally designed to be done with hang cleans, if not hang power cleans.

Wish I'd read that before I tackled it. Everything I deadlift with is SO MAD at me today.

  2. Interesting, hang power cleans would certainly make that workout easier. It's the cleans that really fatigue me. Bodyweight bench presses are easy for me, just because 60% of my mass is between my navel and my neck. And sure, the deadlifts are pretty heavy, but I can grind them out. The cleans, unlike the other two, are power-heavy exercises, and they just do me in.

I am far too wussy as of yet to do as Rx'd, but being a girl, and short with relatively long arms in the bargain, the deads are the least-scaled thing for me. I can manage the explosiveness, but having effectively double deadlifts in the workout trying to do it with full squat cleans just slaughters me.

The fact that I'm still not 100% on the form means I have to concentrate much more on them, too. I'm fairly sure the mental effort contributes to the fatiguing, or at least the perception of it.

  4. Yeah, Linda definitely ranks in the top few "most awful" CF workouts for me, too. Others that spring to mind are the Filthy Fifty and that awful, horrible, torturous 400-m lunge walk. *shudder*

Labrat: I, too, am far too wussy to do it as Rx'd. Yay for scaling!

The Filthy Fifty! Do you realize what you've done? You've summoned it! D:

  6. Nice work, Alison. You know you aren't allowed to mention a WOD by name unless it has been one of the last 3 workouts.
